Tags support finally published

Only for weakness, I developed the Tag support at middle, but I don't implemented yet, until now.

I finally terminated an important feature of the Blog module, the Tag support. Now, you can find entries using the Tags. The Sidebar has a field to search for entries by Tag, and the Entries has the tags at the bottom of each them.

All updates and Tarballs were uploaded to Google Code and the SVN repositories. Please update your site!

See ya!

DPortal Blog released!

Dear users.

I am pleased to present DPortal Blog (just DBlog), the easiest solution for Blogs without DBMS!

DBlog is a modified version of DPortal CMS with some changes in scripts and templates, and minor changes in the core code. Also, phpBB support has been removed.

Features is obvious, a Blog package with Year and month search in address bar, Entries by year and month in the Sidebar, Feeds for 5 last Entries and Entry, and a simplified Control Panel with few options. Style is handler only by CSS.

Currently, this version is sutiable for production, but some features are not termitaed yet. Some of them are a more rich Template editor (as the Blogger template editor), better fields in CSS Style configuration, upload Banner, more styles, Tags handler and others. I still working on them and I'll publish the definitive version of DBlog soon.

You can download DBlog from Google Code, section Downloads. Also, you can download via SVN:

svn checkout http://dportalcms.googlecode.com/svn/dportal_blog

New advances in Blog

Well, today I finded more resources in the Net, and I found some important material for improve the Blog.

The most important is the Year and Month order. Now, entries will be published with the date in URL, and is possible to find entries form a determinated year or month in the address bar. I already checked the Comments module and them works correctly.Other improvement is the list of entries in Sidebar and Nested list collapse (courtesy of www.HowToCreate.co.uk). I tested them but dows not collapse at 100% if only one year are pressent. I still investigating.

Also, I'm corrected some bugs and pulled the Caching of the Blog script. I've updated the cache handler function, in order to use compressed methods for Cache handler function. Now uses gzip (as fallback), bzip2 and Memcached. I recommended to use compression on Cache (except for Memcached because the compression is handler by the Memcached methods.Once I tested all the project, I'll publish the Blog as separate and stand alone package. Minor changes in naming of files will be made, but essentially no changes in the code will be applied.Next Sunday I'll publish a new Tarball, with the full package, and the Blog stand alone. Currently, you can download updates from updates or snapshot SVN repos.

New Tarball and updates published

I am pleased to announce that I released a new Tarball and I have updated all SVN repositories.

These changes include:

  • Review and approval of new Control Panel.
  • Some bugfixes.
  • Added EditArea for Templates.
  • CSS style generated dinamically, custimizable form the Panel.

To do:

  • Add enhancements to the CSS Style configuration in Control panel
  • A Navar (really REALLY important, but I'll implement them when I terminate the main features).

Style configuration is ready to use, but is not terminated yet. I want to add some enhancements to the configuration fields, as a Color selector (for Color stantements), Comboboxes for Number selection (margin, padding and border). Is very easy, but the Configuration comes from an Array of keys and values, and the type of field; them will select the proper enhancement.

You can download the Tarball, or from the SVN repository full_source.

I invite you to try DPortal CMS, which I have come a long way, Iprbado intensively and is suitable for any community website. If they find problems or bugs please let me know through the Google Code Issue Tracker.
